Indivisible Violent Particle, 2013
Bronze sculpture, wooden handle, lightweight concrete block. Size: 15 x 23.5 x 6 in

This work explores the nature of violence using Gandhi’s passive-aggressive “non violent movement” as a trope, suggesting that the commonly understood notion of non-violence can be an illusion. Violence can be both, directed and self-inflicted. For instance, was Gandhi’s “fast unto death” an illusion of non-violence?

This work is establishing a critical point to illustrate idiosyncratic and often subtle workings of violence in our daily lives.
