Holding Back the Tears, 2010
Woollen sweaters and hand drill machine 65 x 192 x 12 in (165 x 488 x 27 cm)

Rotate the handle a little and change occurs. Coloured threads unravel. New objects form. As soon as the threads begin to take the shape of one form it implies the loss of other potential identifications. Life’s no different. Nothing comes from nothing. Who we are is a function of what we do and what is done to us. The formation or unraveling of life is born not of a single act, but rather through a long and repetitive process through which a particular effect is produced.
